Today is day 21 for 3 silkie eggs and all 3 have pipped.
One pipped yesterday and nothing more this morning so I checked it and heard peeps.
All 3 appear to be good so maybe some chicks will appear by tonight.

Congrats! Lots of Day 21's on the board today, mine included. Those two hatched and as soon as they're a bit drier, they go in the brooder so I can get the hatcher ready to put eight more in tonight.

Day 21 for us....4 hatched on Day 20...Frizzles! Not sure if the rest will hatch, All developed but it looks like most died at some point. I have day 20 for mille fleurs and 3 are pipped...we are waiting impatiently! I think shipping was hard, not to mention the classroom they were in had fluctuating temperatures and this was a hova-bator wafer model.

Congrats to all Day 21-ers! [IMG] Go chickies Go! [IMG]

I incubate in a Hova before moving them to my homemade Fridge-a-Bator hatcher. If my room temps go below 70 degrees, the Hova has a hard time regulating. What I usually do is just drape a quilted wallhanging or a hand towel over half of the bator top, making sure it only hangs down about half way so as not to cover any of the little air holes that go around the bottom. That seems to help if the room gets too cold for the wafer to keep up with it well.
BTW, I did post pics in a separate thread. Good luck, SunChick!

Good! My eight eggs are on Day 19 today. It's raw, cold, windy, rainy outside and the temps are dropping through the day, feels like snow is coming. I'd rather they were hatching today so I didn't feel like just sleeping the day away on the couch, LOL.
