This hen has been GLUED to these eggs since I put them under her Sunday evening, May 15 in the evening. That means that a full 21 days would be Sunday evening, June 5. Today is June 7, no pipping, peeping, or chicks, and it's mid-afternoon. Soon they will be a full 48 hours "overdue".

Should I be worried? When should I give up and try to find some chicks to throw under her to brood? She has not been off the nest for more than 5-10 minutes at any time, so I would not expect them to be LATE at all!!! [IMG] Is it possible that even though she has been sitting on them very dutifully during this time that they could be late?

I don't want to give up on them if there is a chance, but is there a possibility that the eggs got too hot? Could they have died from excessive heat, and be non-viable? [IMG]

Yes they can still hatch late under a broody. If you can sneak a chance and candle them then you will know for sure [IMG]
