hi

i have ten bbs orpingtons in a hova 1602n
on the first night the power went out
and the temp dropped to 86
for the first four days i had trouble keeping
the temperature up at 100
it was often at 98

humidity has been right around 50%

i moved the h-bator and temperatures
have stabilized

but i candled with a led flashlight
and i can't see squat

this first timer, an acknowledged worrier
is well, worried

are they in there?
what are they doing in there?

i love them and want them to thrive

is it time to start looking for new eggs?

I would not worry yet... they say the best time to candle is between days 7-10, yours could be held back a day of 2 due to the drop in temp, so I would try not to worry and candle in a few days time.... Happy hatching vibes sent your way

took another look this morning.
didn't see anything, or maybe, just maybe
i saw something like what's in the 52 hour
photo from the sticky by silkie chicken

that would be in line with what teresa-78 was saying

or maybe i was willing myself to see something

Late, the flashlight your using can sit the aircell (rounded) side of your egg pretty well?? Do you see veins radiating inside the egg? If you see veins look in the middle of them where they connect at, there is where the embryo is forming.

Please don't take your eggs out any more than necissary. I'd give them all 2 more days and try to candle them. By the 8th day you should be able to distinctly see the developing spot of the embryo with the veins.

Good luck and happy hatching
