Day 6 of incubation: Does this look normal??

    Veins aren't as preveleant as day 4 and 5 . Does this egg look viable?? Thank you for responding in advance! Happy clucking!

    Is it 4 days? If so---From the looks---I would say give it a few more days----doesn't look good yet!

    BYC has egg candling charts showing what is usually visible at different stages. Put "Egg candling charts," in the search box above, hopefully it will pop up for you.

    Sorry, I have no experience with candling and have just gone with the que sera sera method under a broody hen.

    You have some good advice and links though, so I will just wish you all the best with the hatch.

    I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.
