After a less than successful hatch :(, I just went and collected 7 new babies!
Any idea what the one in the middle down the bottom is?!
    We got 2 x RIR's, 2 x Barnevelders, 1 x Australorp, 1 x Sussex and 1 x Mystery! I'm thinking it's the one in the middle, bottom that's the mystery...
The breeder had a mixture in the bator, all pure breeds though.

    Yes, I think it's head's yellow too.
I'm assuming the 2 other chipmunky ones are the Barenvelders?

  4. I think so. Can you get a picture of the mystery chick alone?

I will definitely get a shot of it alone, might wait until tomorrow though as I only just poked them under broody 2ish hours ago.
The breeder pulled them straight out of the incubator for me and I said I didn't mind what breeds. I asked what he'd put in and he wasn't so sure on that one, but wasn't keen to pull it out for a closer look, considering it's a bit chilly here today

  6. oh ok :)

Ok, so I have no self control and an overly patient Wyandotte!

First is the close up of the one I was wondering about (but now I'm thinking maybe that's one of the Barnevelders?)

Now I'm wondering if this isn't the mystery one.... (welsummer?)

And the 3 chipmunky ones together

  8. the other 2 chipmucky ones look like either bardenvelders or wellsummers.

    Thanks guys!
Someone suggested that the first chick might be a Silver Spangled Hamburg, and from the few pics I can find online, it looks like it might be?
I know he has them because 3 of the eggs we lost were SSH!
Now I'm confused about the "Australorp". I just went and had another look (I have no will power!!!) and the "Australorp" baby has feathered feet! 4 toes but feathered feet! And it seems very small compared to the Sussex...
