Heya peeps...been about this time last year since ive posted on the forums. My Blackstar hens that were purchased from Welp Hatchery are laying machines. I swiped a batch of eggs and got about 15 Rhode Island Reds from a friend to put in the hovabator.

Its day 6 now and 38eggs have candled good. Its my first hatch attempt and im finding it extremely easy with the hovabator...i believe model 1602n.

Raising my little chicks was fun enough...and now hatching them is even better.

Ill keep ya posted on the hatch. Send me some good hatch mojo.

32 total....some still making their way out

The eggs are makred "P" and "K." My buddy gave me some eggs to put in the bator so i marked them so i could distinguish mine from his.

My eggs are full Black Star chicks and his are RIR and black star mix (I gave him a rooster that killed his RIR rooster)

I really wanna try something else now. The eggs I used to hatch were the day olds i bought last year. Id like to get some funky mixed eggs now. Maybe some kind of duck or crazy lookin chicken. Ive already got my bator cleaned out and gonna start hatchin more for the neighbors that got bit by the bug by watchin mine ;]
