DE-Food grade--Powder form vs granular--any concerns or opinions??

Just now I opened up a new bag of DE from a different feed store. I had to buy 40 lbs! It was the last bag in the county. On opening it--surprise. No white powder, instead it's a grey granule, but still food grade, it says on the bag! However, I'm wondering how well it works for getting into those tiny mite joints. It would seem that the powder could be more effective.
