Dead chicks,

Ok this is nuts,
I got chick last year (32 chicks) and 6 died in the first day,
Then I got chicks this year (26 chicks and on Day 3) and no chicks are dead,
can anybody tell me what that means?
Is it that I had to many chicks to grow for the first year for chicks, and now I have the right amount?
Am i going crazy?

It may not be anything you are doing. Did you order your checks through the mail? I know I have been told to expect casualties if you order them through the mail and fortunately, we haven't lost any yet.

Probably it's just random chance. Six out of 36 is not very different from 0 out of 26 when you consider the unpredictability of postal delivery practices

It is really really really common for people to lose "some" chicks in the first few days or week. It's not always something you can avoid. Although the more experience you have, the more likely that you'll be able to recognize a problem in time to do something about it.

Yea its really hard to tell. Alot of different variables. I got chickes last year and lost like atleast 2-4 each order this year i have only lost 1 out of 7 orders.
