Dead Rooster

I went out this morning and let them out of the run into the backyard. Reddy (Rooster) looked kind of yucky and sluggish. A couple hours later he was dead. I am so bummed out. He was just learning to crow. He was friendly and gorgeous. The others look ok. he showed no previous signs of illness????

Sorry you lost him. They can die of some internal defect, maybe a heart defect or an aneurysm, maybe a liver condition -- lots of things, just like people. They can have an accident that breaks their neck or causes some other fatal injury that isn't obvious unless you look very closely, or maybe do a necropsy. If no one else seems sick, I wouldn't be concerned about them.
