I wish there was someone I could call to take care of the turtle problem. I don't know where to begin. There are different ideas for getting rid of them online, but most of them involve shooting them, which I am not able to do.

You don't have to shoot it you can load it up in your truck or what ever in a large box and take it way off. but there maybe more than one so you'll have to keep baiting till you don't catch any more. Look in your local phone book maybe some one listed that takes care of problems animals.

Depends how big the pond is. Snapping turtles can get HUGE! Although, there not as fast at snapping at you, the older ones may be quite heavy for just one person.
