DECEMBER Hatch-A-Long!😊

Here in Southeast Missouri, we just went into lockdown. Did a final weighing and candling and they all look great, as far as I can tell. About half of the eggs had a big jump in air pocket size since I marked them 3 days ago. Overall, the eggs lost about 8.5% of their weight by Day 18, with a few losing as much as 10-11%

There's another thread I started to help me figure out what I can expect the chicks to look like. It led to my decision to divide the incubator in half so I can keep track of which chicks hatch from which eggs. If you're interested, you can find it here:

So egg-cited!!

8 Muscovy Eggs under Mama Duck, and when she popped out to eat, drink, bathe I took a peek.

Expected hatch is Dec 3-4th... Currently 1 Pip and LOTS of tapping inside every single egg

Temps have been 37-40°C here (98-104°F) this past week so I was thinking an earlier hatch may be expexted
