(decided with the help of broody BO) and pray I haven't made another bad choice. This guy has Lavender Orps and Welsummer(i had to cancel chick order in early april for blue Maran and some Wels (from hatchery)so this is close enough!) and I pray he is legit so I don't waste time/money.BO hen has been true broody for at least 10 days and I hope she can handle a few more weeks of torture to herself. She was off nest long enough this a.m. to eat then back on nest where shes poofie and growling. She did well when I nailed in plastic netting around her cubbyhole.Anxious!!!Any advice for transport home(I imagine as long as the temp is kept close to "room temp?" eggs should tolerate 1 1/2 hrs. or so?

A one hour drive in your vehicle would definitely be better for your eggs than being shipped. I just use an egg carton when I transport my eggs.
Sounds like it should work even better than shipping but have never gotten hatching eggs from anywhere and am wanting to do everything as correct as possible.Supposed to be 70 degrees tomorrow and I may put eggs in insulated box and put them in back of truck covered with blanket(don't want them too hot).

I would crack an egg with the seller to check fertility if you are in doubt.
Good idea IF you know what to look for. I am not perceptive enough and that would prove nothing to me unfortunately. Will just have to take a chance. I do want to at least look at housing etc for the birds.I bought chicks fro CL ad once and the place was a mess along with the fact all of the chicks(sexed? yeah right! they were all mixed in with other breeds and this person had short enclosures chicks were able to escape easily) So rather than go home empty handed i bought some(not again) and ended up, of course, with unwanted boys and a gorgeous, fluffy Barred Cochin cockerel that we opted to eat.

Just for further reference and as a learning experience for later on, here's how you tell fertility in an egg:

This last hatch I bought eggs from a girl I'd never delt with, and was very happy to see 100% fertility! First time I've set eggs and had every one of them be fertile.
