Decided to stop lurking!

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on the forum since I first got my girls about 6 months ago, and have decided its time to say hello! I live near Liverpool in the UK, and am the proud owner of 6 beautiful hens who have managed to get right under my skin. I really never expected them to have as much personality as they have . Yes I'm well and truly smitten!

Welcome to BYC from California wine country in the Western Sierra Foothills!

I had the same reaction when I started keeping chickens. No clue they were something more than feathered, bug eating, egg laying producers of "free" fertilizer.

Now I worry if my very mixed flock needs a few Speckled Sussex added or if that breed plays well with others..... Who might end up on the bottom of the pecking order?

"Who" not which chicken.

They're all named and I love their personalities; I can totally understand being smitten.
