Chicks started hatching early this morning. All nine that were born looked normal. When I got home from work four more hatched. One of the chicks (buff Orpington) is up and as active as the others but I noticed it's head is a little dipped in on one side. Then I realized it only had one eye and the top of the break is not lined up with the bottom portion. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen. And wondering what could have caused it. Otherwise he looks good. I feel bad for the poor little thing.

It is genetic and the outlook is very slim IF IT can survive, as eating with a cross beak
will mean you will have to cut it beak back just below the blood line, AND FEED IT WET MASH FOR LIFE.
YOU BE THE JUDGE AS TO KEPING IT.

Thanks for the replies. I have to get the picture up loaded on the computer. I always use my tablet. Today the chick seems to be doing as the others. I just want to give him a chance. He did drink and pick at food like the others. I will keep you posted. Thanks again.
