I was just wondering if anyone has or raises Delaware Chickens ? I daydream of raising them one day. I had a Delaware hen in my first set of day old peeps from Meyer Hatchery in 2010. I named her Cordelia...she was my absolute favorite. Cordelia was so so friendly, hopped up in my lap, nibbled at my hair, followed me, and was a very "in your face" kind of gal ! She unfortunately died the next summer and I miss her dearly. This past May, I bought another Delaware hen from Half A Chance farm in NJ and she's great, but I still miss my Cordelia ! I have yet to settle on a name for my newest flock member...thinking, thinking, thinking !
Anyway, I thought if any of you Back Yard Chicken lovers fancy the Delaware breed, I'd love to chat with you.
