i have two bantams which are together 24 7 and they went broody about a week ago for around 3 days. as we have plenty of chickens and have just let one of our hens hatch an egg and the two bantams have just hatched an egg each we took the eggs away to try stop their broodyness and it worked. but lately they have been looking really sad. our chickens free range everyday and while all the chickens charge out the run the bantams just sit on a log in the run which they never used to do. their eating fine and seem very normal otherwise except they are still not laying. i gave all our chickens a bath yesterday as they were all filthy and the bantams didn't like it at all. any ideas what could be wrong?

I would try putting a few eggs in a nest box for a few days and see how they react to it. I'm not really sure what else you could do though.
