We just lost our second chicken to a broken neck. We have lost all 3 of our original chickens now in just over 3 years and they are safe from predators! So I can't help but wonder if we have a bad coop design? Do you know of any reason why neck breaks could keep happening like that?

    We need more information.

do you have pics of your coop?

Details on the birds, what happened to them, how you found them, pictures if you have them.

Is your coop locked? Could a neighbor be killing them?

Also wonders how you are sure their necks are actually broken and not just limp in death?

That's an odd conclusion to draw based on very little information.

Yes it is, but how does a chicken break its own neck, and not just one? I would put up a camera and see what predators are lurking, hopefully it is not a 2 legged predator but I would not rule it out.

And it was not a conclusion... Just a question.

They can get spooked and fly into a wall and break their neck, it's not too uncommon......
....way, way, way more common than two legged chicken murderers.
