Frosti , one of our americauna hens, went broody a few weeks ago. hatched one chick and killed another one that hatched. we decided to take her off of the eggs on day 23 since the rest of the eggs hadn't hatched yet. we put her back with the other hens and the 15 or so 5 wk. old babies we put with them. Frosti is so determined to be a mama that she adopted ALL 15+ babies!! We went to lock everyone up tonight and found that the chicks were all under her/around her. we were so amazed that the 5 wk. old chicks would even want a mommy since they've never had one. Thought it was pretty cool. The pics are not very clear because it was dark out.And remember, there are more than 15 chicks in there! Enjoy!
