Just got hammered by 60 something mph winds. Have chicken houses damaged. Feed troughs blown across the pasture. Lost a huge part of one of my best trees. Neighbors fence is leaning and blown down in spots. Garage flooded. Barn flooded. Everything flooded. Gotta wait for daylight to access any more damage. I've heard reports that others may have trees on their houses. It was one heck of a lightning storm right before. We had a very unstable atmosphere. Power is off and it's getting hot.

Oh my word, are your birds o.k?
.

I think so. We lost power most of the night. I'm going to check on the little ones that were under light. I moved them to a small box hoping they would keep each other warm.

I'm pulling out the bator again. I promised myself that I wouldn't until the NYD hatch-along, but I think it's ok if it's a favor for a friend.

She's had a rough couple of weeks. She's never had to deal with predators before, but they have suddenly bombarded her. She lost over 30 chickens to multiple raccoons (on multiple days) and 12 ducks and 2 chickens to coyotes. This all happened during a 2 week period.

She said she hasn't collected eggs in forever and she knows that hens have been sitting on them so she's bring everything over to candle. Anything with development will go in the incubator so that she can start over with eggs. It should be an interesting hatch and it may be an excuse to add some of my eggs.

ok guys i am having an issue my chicks are 5 days old and ive lost 3, the temp is warm enuff they have water but i found them attacking one chick i dont know whats wrong
is your temp too warm? you have the lamp at one end at 95 and the other ends are cooler so chicks can get away from the heat? also your feeing medicated chick starter?

I have a three week old chick that's still in brooder and never been outside that just sits in the corner doing the whole squaty neck and looking tired all the time. All others look healthy and they are on medicated feed. This started with the last 24 hours. What do you think it is? Thanks!
