I have seen two of my hens spit up water. They don't heave like us humans do when we get sick, it's more like water trickles out of their mouth. Is that normal?

    Thanks

I've seen mine do that too. Not sure why they do it but it doesn't happen often. Could be that they drank too much water due to the heat or something then got a bit upset.

Mine do that too! It caught me off guard the first time I saw it. I was told they do that when they drink too much water. From what I understand, it's pretty common. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it [IMG]

OK thanks. Been about 100 for weeks so they are drinking a lot. Makes sense.

I just saw 2 of mine do that the other day... Glad to know what could have caused it! It's been over 100 here for weeks too.

Mine do too. Maybe it's time to cut back on their pizza and beer?[IMG]

My roo does it all the time intentionally.
My chickens seem to like wet feed, so he dribbles in the feed and they all gobble it up quickly!

I've seen my dark brahma do this every so often. She appears to be healthy, so I have no idea why she does it. It's a clear liquid that comes right out.
