Here's my new little girls (I hope)
The seller was a lovely man, but very old European and in a bit of a hurry, so he kind of 'handed us some little birds'
I think he said Mary and Yolko were 5 weeks, Stevie and M'Egghen are about 8....does that look like it lines up?
What are they?
Anyone?

The first image is Mary in the back left, Stevie is the blondie, M'Egghen is on the right.

Next one is M'Egghen dancing

Last one is the labeled one. They were in different coops, that's why I think they're different ages. (Plus Stevie and M'Egghen are bigger and braver)

Yes, these are chickens. They all look like females and all mixed breeds. Love the names! 😊
Sorry looking again Mary might be male. I see male saddle feathers? Can you get a close up of the feathers just before the tail?

Yeah....Mary just gives me the boy vibe. I'm not experienced enough to determine anything more than a vibe though. 😆
Any suggestions of which breeds mixed? The seller said they were mixed...but he also had quails and pheasants and muskovies and oodles of other birds.

It's too early in their development for that. It's the color pattern that looks a little off for a female, but who knows. It's a little too soon to tell.
I noticed just a few minutes ago in the sunlight, that Mary's feathers have a significant amount of the 'gasoline' blues in there. (I love those blue black look) but I hadn't seen that on Friday. I know a mom shouldn't say this about her girls, but Mary's head is just...more buzzardy. 😆 lumpy. Larger. Plus she just hopped down and hung out with Bonzo like it was no big deal. Brave.

It's a little early to know for sure, but keep an eye on her comb. If it starts getting bigger and redder in the near future, then you might want to post pictures in here and ask about her gender.
