difference: australorp & orpington

    What is the difference between a black australorp and a black orpington? Besides appearance what about egg production? Which is a better layer?

    The Australorp (Australian Utility Orpington) is smaller and tighter feathered. Lays far better than its ancestor

    Orpingtons are fluffier and usually larger.
