I got some free Barred rock pullets (hopefully lol) at the feed store today. They’re doing great and are as sweet as can be. But I was noticing they have a bit more brown coloring on their face than the PBRs that I got from Cackle hatchery last summer and their white dot on their head is almost yellow. My hatchery chicks were just plain black and white. I’m wondering if they may be more mixed perhaps? Or do some PBRs have brown spots as chicks? I tried to get a good picture lol.

They came from the Grange Co-op in Oregon if that helps. :)
Like I said, I love them either way. I just noticed they looked a little different when I got them home.

Here’s my Barred rock at a few days old, the next pic she’s about a week old, hen the final pic is maybe 2 weeks later. Yours look like mine, except my Willow has always had some grey coloring on her legs. I’m pretty confident now they’re Barred Rocks. The extra brown on some of their faces just threw me off lol. :)

What little cuties!! It’s amazing how much chicks change as they grow. I’m no expert, but your chicks look like mine did. Time will tell!

Do you know what they were supposed to be? Black sex link cockerels look almost identical to barred Rock chicks.

They’re supposed to be Barred Rock pullets. They had those out and RIR pullets for the free chick special. There were no other chicks out in the store.
