Ok, so I am hatching out chicks (artificially), and was wondering if my silkie could take over on taking care of them. 3 of them a her own and 4 are not. So do you think she would take care of them?

If your hen hatches out chicks at the same time you do with the incubator you can give them to her to adopt. This is easier done in the evenings when she's sleeping, so she'll wake up to them and (hopefully) not remember a thing and think they are hers. If she's got chicks now already she won't accept new small chicks later when you hatched yours.

She has no chicks, and she is not sitting on any, too.
