Dinner Tonight: Smoked turkey and Key Lime Pie

I smoke an 18 pound turkey last night for six hours using hickory.

Now, me and the kid are making a key lime pie. He is fascinated
by how egg whites and sugar turn into a merengue. I can't explain
it myself.

Sorry, no pics. Battery dead and too lazy.


Oh, new pot of turkey stock in the crockpot too. It smells good in here.

Boy that makes my fish sticks and mac-n-cheese taste bad!!! Don't tell my family what you've got....they'll be sooo mad at me!
 
Everyone come on over. We love to cook for friends.

The key lime is sort of a cheat. I bought a chocolate pie crust and
a lime filling mix. The Merengue is real, right from the chickens vent
plus the whipped cream is heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla.

Now the turkey is 100% home grown.

Have you been eating the deer you processed? Sorry if you've posted about it, I've probably missed a few threads here and there.
