"dip their beak in water" - what about nipple type?

So we get our chicks next Wednesday. We've been setting up the brooder box based on this one

And we got the side-mounted poultry nipples she recommended, and made a waterer from a juice bottle as she did.

The instructions for new chicks all say to "dip their beak in the water" - I'm unsure how that works with a nipple system.

Touch there beaks to the water nipples you
will probably have to do it several times till they
learn how to use them. I would also suggest
having a regular water in there for a short while.
Just to be sure that there all getting water.
