My Ameraucana has had a dirty bum for about a week. I haven't had her and the other flock members very long, only a couple weeks, but I dont recall her having a dirty bum when I got her. Also, she was tagged on her leg twice it looks like, does anyone know why that could be? Thanks guys!

Hi, and WELCOME TO BYC!
How old is she?
It sounds as if she might have "Pasty Butt" if she does, then you need to clean her vent so she doesn't die from having "the works" clogged up.

Oh yeah I forgot to add the "Pasty Butt" thing

Hello everyone! Nice to be here!

The lady I got her from said she was born last fall, and that they just stated laying. She is laying ok, got a nice blue egg today.....

Would I know if the vent is clogged if shes laying ok?

Also can you see the picture of her butt I put up? lol

Can't see the pics.
If she is laying then she doesn't have "Pasty Butt".
If her droppings are clumped around her vent externally and completely covering her vent, then that is "Pasty Butt"

It's looks like the pics I've seen of chickens with lice that I've seen in the books I've read.

thank you :) Looks like you may be right.....Now to figure out how to treat it.

Looks like Vent Gleet. Lots of posts on BYC on how to treat it. Needs a good cleaning with epsom salts and some probiotics sprinkled on the feed.
