Dirty bums

Hi all. We have 4 polish bantam chicks 9 days old.. 2 have dried poop on there bottoms. Iv cleaned this off and popped a little oil under but will it keep happening and is there anything we can do to prevent it in future.. these chicks have a mumma looking after them. Thanks

They can be too warm or it’s a diet issue.

They sleep in a broody box with their mumma and are fed on chick crumbs but have free range through the day so maybe tucking into what ever they find. Should I keep them in the run for a few weeks....
