Dirty Chickens!

I came home today to find my 2 Reds laying in the corner of their outside area in dirt huddled close togeather and they seemed to be rolling into the dirt on their sides occasionally and just staying huddled togeather in that spot???

That's called a dust bath. They LOVE it, they will kick out the dirt and make it really fluffy, roll around in it and then sometimes just sit in there.

Dusting. The act of thrashing around in the dirt to clean their feathers and discourage body parasites.
