I've noticed the eggs I get from only one Leghorn hen are consistently dirty. The nesting boxes are clean, we just cleaned the coop. Any ideas on how that could happen?

Sometimes a chickens foot can get dirty fast, maybe she stepped in some mud, and accidentally stepped on the eggs as she was trying to get out of the egg box. It sometimes happens to my eggs too, once I got an entire foot print on an egg!

Does she often have poo on her butt feathers? Also, we get horribly dirty eggs in muddy weather. And sometimes a hen will poo right on the egg after she lays it, or will step in poo and then put her feet on the eggs. Lots of reasons for it.
