T-rex's eggs are DIRTY! she has been sitting in a kitty carrier but rarely leaves it and I put her water into it and she constantly spills it. Needless to say it looked a mess and since the coop was getting hot and so was she I moved her into the house. Well her eggs are filthy and fertile. Should I try and clean them off? I have her in one of my brooder boxes with lots of pine shavings and she finally settled back down to set them. Or should I consider this hatch wasted?

I would leave them alone at this point. What day is she on? You can candle them on day 7 to see if they are growing. Dirty eggs do hatch, Try to remove the shells quickly after she hatches any to avoid having the chick getting any bacteria.

I would leave them too. My BO just hatched out one lonely chick yesterday. And she too would spill her water alot after day 14, I swear I cleaned that wet stuff up almost every day, and sometimes twice a day.

Hi, All 9 of my OEGB (gamebirds) were muddy and dirty and every last one hatched with no problemo. I would definitely hold on and see what you get [IMG]

Well this sucks, she scattered all the eggs sometime last night and they got cold! We had a bad storm here and I think that freaked her out in a new place. So she was placed back in the coop with the rest of the girls. My roo was like....so where ya been? She was like....Not Now! I have a headache! Well I know the Roo is doing his job now, sooo after this hatch in the bator, I'll incubate some of their eggs unless someone else tries to set again.
