I searched threads about one-legged chickens to see if this could be a possibility for my month-old chick. She (?) has two bad legs, although one is way worse than the other - am thinking of having it amputated. Her toes are curled on both feet, but if the vet is willing (she has a "sibling" with splints on his feet right now) to try and split her better leg/foot, I'm willing to give her a chance. I've tried the do-it-yourself booties, to no avail. She eats and drinks just fine, and I really don't want to have her euthanized if she has any chance at a happy life. My daughter is devastated at the thought of losing her, as am I, but I don't want her to suffer. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks! Yes, it looks most like the one shown with a Vitamin G deficiency. Can I offer yeast and alfalfa (sources of this vitamin, also called riboflavin) to a one-month-old chick?

see under correct feeds and supplements for poly vi sol no iron

Some feed poly vi sol without iron, and others get a poultry pack of vits from the feed store. Others rely on feeding the correct foods as you suggested. It is a personal choice. Scrambled eggs are also a good food to feed to provide vitamins.
