Disapearing spots

I get at leat one egg out of six a day that looks normal, but when I get it wet to wash it there appear spots on the egg. As I scrub the egg they come off. What on earth is this?? Anyone know??

Probably just a part of the bloom that hens deposit on the eggs when they lay them. Nothing to worry about.

i get one like that from my barred rock or cuckoo maran ( not sure which one ) anyway it is normal and some eggs do have spots on them. i also have one that lays a brown egg with white spots and when u wet them the spots turn a dark brown. then fade back to white.

Brown are chicken spray paint, red is blood - blood tends to rinse off w/o scrubbing. (and there shouldn't be that many days of blood)

Thanks for all the replys. I figured it was nothing to worry about, just wondered what it was.
