Disappearing ducks

So last night I left my ducks down at the new run I built them by the stream and this morning all 6 are gone. No feathers, blood, or signs of struggle, no sign that the wire has been trampled or dug under. I'm really hoping they somehow managed to jump/fly out and are hiding somewhere and will turn up again, but I'm not hopeful<P>


What could possibly make half a dozen month-old ducks vanish without a trace and without disturbing the wire fence?

So I loaded up the over and under and decided to go on a safari to find either wayward ducks, evidence of their deminse, or some creature on which I could take out my vengeance. About 100 yards downstream were all 6 of my ducks. Honestly I've never seen them manage to jump higher than their own shoulder height and certainly no flight so I really did not expect they'd get over a 3 foot fence.

Where do people find cheap netting to keep them from flying the coop?
