Discrepancy in Govee vs Elekcity Laser

I trust my Govee as I have calibrated it with several other thermometers, and I don't exactly trust my Elekcity infrared thermometer. However, I'm still worried that when I temp the eggs specifically it usually reads around 102-103 even if the ambient is 99.3. I just need a few words to calm my anxiety about this difference. I was just thinking too about the natural discrepancies in air temp vs surface temps. Could it just be that the eggs really do run that hot even if the ambient is about 3 degrees cooler?
