Disease mystery

    anjovi6 Chillin' With My Peeps

    Got 26 baby Australorp Wednesday early AM and all were alive on arrival. Today is the fourth day all of a sudden 6 have died at one time. All are eating and drinking. Food is medicated and water has electrolytes. Brooder temp is fine presently on card board with pine bedding under it. Everything appears to be as it should be. Never had this problem before in 55 years of raising peeps. Anyone have any thoughts?

    It's probably shipping stress, especially if they came in the mail. There have been subzero temperatures, especially with windchill this week. Where did they ship from? I usually tell people to dip the beaks in electrolyte water as often as possible, but I'm sure you know that. Here is an interesting take on shipping stress by various veterinarians:
