Disease or Secondary Infection?

Does anyone know what this could be? I think it started as fowl pox about 6 weeks ago and then turned into this. My Roo is very sick, scratches his head , lost his appetite, head is swollen and eyes, and can barely see out of one eye. He’s now on Albon antibiotic 1 time daily. Is getting his appetite back but I have to hand feed him up close so he can see it. Any ideas would be appreciated?

Hi AmyJane, no I didn’t treat because I read that fowl pox has to run its course? Ive never had a chicken before , so just read stuff on the internet.

I was just curious. I have no idea if there even is a treatment or if they just have to slog through it. Just wanted to establish that this is the first antibiotic he has been on during the course of this illness.

No Amy, this was not the first antibiotic he was on, actually in my stupidity, I gave him a 500 mg. Capsule of Amoxicillian ( I know, now this way way too much!) and I think I almost killed him trying to make him better.

It’s hard when you’re on your own and desperately trying to help. I’m glad you found this forum. I’ll call in the experts to see if they can help your boy. How is he today? Still hanging in there?
