Hi!

I am curious what everyone uses to disinfect their coops after outbreaks especially coccidiosis. I was told to use bleach but have been reading a lot that it's ineffective? Is ammonia the best to use? The floor and walls are wood....

I used Virkon S, it’s a livestock specific disinfectant, it kills pretty much everything, ie Salmonella, respiratory diseases... If you search up ‘poultry disinfectants’ you can find others if you can’t get Virkon S. You can buy it on eBay though.

I place bleach in a hose end sprayer and saturate the coop and run ceiling, walls and floor. Then let it dry.

It says not to use Vikron on dirt floor coops. Any other recommendations?
