Wrong, so very, very wrong!

They also got Industrial Light and Magic in the deal.

I'm actually okay with this. Maybe Disney will be able to breathe new life into the Star Wars franchise. :D

More JarJarBinks and ewoks? EGAD. Those monstrosities almost completely ruined the SW franchise for me. And then you had wookies doing the Tarzan call?

Hopefully they decide to make a serious movie rather than one geared toward merchandise geared toward little kiddies.

Disney owns the Avengers movies, as I recall. Those certainly aren't being made to appeal to kids.

I'm not asking anyone to be excited about this, but we don't need to be panicking yet either. :caf

I'm trying to give Disney the benefit of the doubt, but in all honesty, I've got a baaaad feeling about this. *Sigh* They'll probably add extra touchy-feely morals or something. I love Disney, but some things should never mix.

I already couldn't stomache the new trilogy, so it's not really ruining anything for me personally. I mean, other than the fact that fewer and fewer corportions have greater and greater ownership and power.

That said, "Gravity Falls" is just about the best thing ever, and I unfortunately have to credit stomped-on-my-love-for-2D-animation Disney for that.

I remember when the first Star Wars was out around 1974? at the movie theatre (now a store mall) and I loved it! I didn't like it when the VHS/DVD came out with "newer and improved" Star Wars, particuarly Jabba the Hut, with Han Solo, it was a "person", not the modified big old green blob worm LOL! I still have my VHS of Star Wars and the DVD of the "newer" Star Wars triology.

I was having mixed feelings about George Lucas selling his Star Wars to Disney. What is really the motive behind it? Is he hurting for money?

I sure hope Disney will put it to good use but I do not like the animation/cartoons of Star Wars, it just takes away the "realization" the charms of the characters in the films.

Would Han Solo actor, Harrison Ford, Princess Leia, Ms Fisher, and Mark Hamill come back? Who knows? Most of the actors are either retired from the Star Wars saga while others have been long gone or dead. Or Liam Neilson as the younger Obiwan Kenobi? I would love them to make a revival but something tells me Disney probably would mix the animation of like Brave and Star Wars people mix together.

All we have to do is wait and see how it will unfold. If we all Star Wars fan don't like it, we can protest loudly it is not good enough for us and not watch it any further.

Actually disney will more than likely do it better than the "first" 3 films. (The new ones). Disney bought marvel a while ago and because of that you got Avengers, Thor, Ironman (sequels included), Captain America, and etc. All box office hits.
