Hello, One of my hens has dispatched her egg production organs.

Recently our egg count for our 4 hens went from 4 a day to 2 or 3 per day. Then one morning there was a huge racket, clucking much much louder than normal egg laying, and when I went to investigate one of my marans came out of the coop and I found pink mounds in the nest box. I picked them out and took pictures and looked them up on the internet. I found they are the egg producing organs. We now only per 3 eggs per day. None of the Hens has shown any signs of being ill. They are look and act well. Does anyone know why this has happened?

This may be so as I have hybrid birds. I was worried that it was an infection of some sort and didn't want it spreading. None of the other hens have had a problem and all are happy and cheeky as ever. Thank you for your reply it has given me another avenue to investigate.
