Okay, I just witnessed one of my new babies in the coop being "tossed" by the mama hen. I got the chick out of there and gave it to another mama hen to watch and see if she would accept it. Well, she took all three in (moved 3 over) it seemed, and all was fine until I see that chick being tossed again. I've also witnessed that chick pecking the other mama's eyes. Is this normal behavior? I am kind of guessing maybe the chick latched on to the mom and she was tossing her head trying to get it off now instead of mom picking up the chick and "tossing" it.

    Any thoughts, comments, or experiences?

    Thank you once again!
