If so, starting when and how often? Will a broody hen do this herself?
If you eggs are under a broody, she will turn them.
if not under a hen then you will need to turn them 3 times a day
the hen should take care of her own eggs. If in a bator with no turner then turn them every 6-8 hours. this prevents the yolk from settling to one side and sticking to the shell. If in an egg carton or in the bator I have seen people just tilt the whole thing. Putting a brick or something under 1 side then moving it to the other every 6-8 hours. If the eggs are loose in the bator becareful of the eggs sliding into each other.
Good luck and God Bless!
If you are incubating, that's a big 10-4. Yes.
Setting hens are natural incubators and they know what to do. Best hens to set are Silkies and Cochins from my experiences.
I've read somewhere that a hen turns her eggs on average 26 times a day.
