This morning at 5:00 I went out to see about my chickens and my hen was standing up wide awake. Are ther any disieses that could cause this?

Also that hen seems to be moulting BUT, she's already moulted this year.

That's normal behavior for chickens and nothing to worry about. Chickens don't sleep soundly and the slightest noise will wake them. I think it a genetic survival instinct.

Every night I open the people door to check chickens, and they are always standing, making quiet little bawk-bawks. I think they do sleep very lightly. Enjoy your chickens. [IMG]
