Do chickens mind about half grown grass!?!

i really want chickens

but my mum says i have to wait until the grass grows!!!
but i dodnt know weather i should wait until it does

, or weather they like it just the same with it only half grown?

I think you can still get chickens even if you dont have any grass at all.You can feed them grains if there is no grass.
