Do Ducks Make Chickens Less Healthy?

I'm wondering whether the fact that ducks routinely soil water that they and other poultry raised with them are then likely to drink means that chickens being kept with a duck or ducks are more likely to become ill with fecal-borne illnesses. Anyone know an answer to this? Thanks
