I bought my chicks from Big R and Rural King. I'm wondering if they sell vaccinated chicks or not??? I read mediated food and vaccinations cancel each other out which is why I'm curious. Guessing they don't sell vaccinated chicks simply because it's an added cost. I could always call the stores and ask as well...thanks much!

My feed stores don't vaccinate as a rule.

But, call them and ask. And if they say yes, find out what they were vaccinated for. Most common vaccine is for Marek's disease. Medicated feed is to combat cocci, so the two have nothing to do with each other. I don't think any feed stores routinely vaccinate against cocci.

Agreed, you would not likely getting a chick vaccinated for anything from a feed store. IMO, vaccination is simply not needed for a BYF.
