Do Ganders Develop a Brood Patch?

I am positive my one American buff is a Gander, but he has developed a very distinct brood patch, just like one of the geese. Do ganders get brood patches or do I have the most outgoing, slender necked goose in history instead of a gander? (They are coming up on a year and I am still figuring out genders and thought I finally had it right.)

The small patch they pull the feathers out of on their chest to incubate.

Oh, yeah ganders do that too, though I see it more often in ganders, I rarely ever see it in females.
