Do only male IB chicks have green on the top of their head?

I have two IB and I think they are males. I checked for the barring and orange feathers, I think they have that but I am not positive. So I was wondering if this is another helper in determining sex?

Hi peafowlmom,
Sexing the peachicks is not difficult, if you hold the peachicks in hands and look for diffenent colours.

Male peachick have more orange primary flight feathers and barred back.

Female peachick have more browner primary flight feathers and more plain brown back.

Both sex have green colour to juvenile head and neck feathers, but male peachick don't have blue feathers on neck until 8 months old.

Cheers

Clinton.
