I have what I thought were 2 Araucana hens. One is lagging on the development side. Peanut is smaller and has less feathers than the other. She reminds me of an ostrich - like a baseball with legs. Do chickens coincide with humans, as in girls mature faster than boys?

    With alot of breeds, yes.
I just looked and on this computer I don't have the pic, but my dark brahma cockerel was half the size and had about half the feathering of my pullet chicks of the same age for a long time.

I have 10 Araucanas (which are really just Easter Eggers in my case) that are two weeks old, and about half of them are twice as big as the others. My thought was that the bigger ones would turned into roosters, but it looks like it may be the other way around. Can’t wait to have it figured out, it probably won’t be for a while though.
