My rooster Pepper crows at about the same time every morning. When the clocks go back in Nov will he be crowing whether its dark or not? I thought they crow when the sun comes up.
What is the real reason they crow?? Will it get worse or more often when he matures?
So far, since the end of July, Ive had no complaints from my 3 behind neighbors.

Mature roosters 1 1/2 + years crow less in general.

I noticed my rooster sticks to his internal clock, but is heavily influenced by morning light. As the days get shorter, he's probably going to adjust when he crows.

My rooster crows in the morning, afternoon, and sometimes in the evening but that's to get the hens in the coop.
In general he doesn't crow that much as he's getting older.

My rooster will crow as soon as I turn on the lights in the house. :lau He crows when I walk the dogs. He crows when I drive down the driveway. He crows when I ride the horse. Livestock is not aware of how we change our clock backs, They are, however, aware of our movements and will react accordingly.
